“The Way Life Should Be”

Before resuming “Wicked” which I am right in the middle of, I read “The Way Life Should Be” by Christina Baker Kline.
This book was hilarious and a definite weekend read. It’s about a woman who lives in NYC, and after a bad work mis-hap, she moves to a far off destination to follow her one true love… Except, life doesn’t really turn out the way she wants.
First of all, Mr. Prince Charming isn’t who he appears to be and Secondly, her getaway place is Maine. But the best part of this book is the way the character falls down and picks herself up again. Her friendships with the native Maine residents make you laugh too, and her gay co-worker makes you wish you worked with him. Honestly, the plot was funny and witty, and in the end, the main character finds a new life hat she has always wanted…
I love reading little fun reads because when it’s raining outside and your phone keeps ringing, sometimes all you need to do to decompress is whip out a book and grab a blanket. I’d give this book 3 stars.
