Ahh yes, here I am! Finally, Comcast got their act together and has rescued me from my weekend of utter boredom. After two days of gusty winds, drenching rain, falling trees and fences it seems that the weather has started to cooperate here. Two days of no internet/cable/phone is enough to drive any sane girl up a wall, but I think I managed. It was kind of nice to have a “media fast”. Although the no-internet was making me feel like I was cut off from the “real” world.
But I managed to entertain myself. I baked a ton so expect LOTS of updates here. I saw some great movies, including Atonement which could be one of the best movies I have seen in a while. James McAvoy are so good togehter, and their white hot chemistry will make your toes curl. I also saw Interview with Sienna Miller, which was pretty good too. It’s about this B-list movie s tar who is interviewed by a stuck up and secretive journalist. The two spar and fight and reveal some pretty intimate secrets throughout the film.
And I finsihed off two books, “Good Grief” by Lolly Winston and “Paint It Black”by Janet Fitch. The first book was a complete page turner, and the second one was just alright. “Good Grief” tells the story of a lonely widow who loses her husband to cancer and has to figure out what to do with her life. “Paint It Black” is about a young girl whose boyfriend commits suicide and she must deal with his strange mother.
All in all, it was a pretty interesting weekend, despite the blackout. Unlike others in California, I was lucky to have power all throughout the weekend but cleanup was a complete bitch. Hopefully the rest of the week stays dry!

undercanopy - I have just stumbled upon this blog. The rain has been really light here in So Cal. Unlike you, I would have gone crazy if there is no access to the internet and cable for two days. Nice blog. :)
