fashion forward
I have been in a big fashion rut lately. Some stores just aren’t doing it for me. From bright neons to black/white palettes, I am a bit lost as to what my spring closet should look like. Not to mention that the actual fit and design of most of the clothes right now doesn’t wow me. Normally spring brings tons of fresh and renewed cuts and styles, but right now I’m feeling unenthused.

But leave it to Ms. Paltrow to rev me up! What did I expect, though? She has never really let me down. I know, most of you might not like her (she’s a bitch/ice queen/snob) but personal complaints aside, this woman knows what to do fashionwise.
For the past two weeks, she has really been working it. First, it started with this gorgeous new hair cut she got, which I think takes years off of her. Her long hair was breathtaking but made her look matronly and old. Her styled short hair goes well with her impeccable fashion sense too.

This white dress that she wore to a celebrity wedding recently was the epitome of spring. Floaty and light white dress that hits just right on her long legs, mixed with her simple hair and makeup make this look effortless. Plus, look at those sleeves! I love them. Don’t they look very Victorian-esque? Slightly bell-shaped with a small puff on the shoulder. Flawless. And the shoes. Simple black heel, reminiscent of those gladiator shoes I’m jonesing for.

This look that she wore to a charity event stopped me in my tracks. Not that it is anything huge or groundbreaking; it just epitomizes everything that I adore in fashion. Great cut off the dress, not to mention the print is interesting as well. Again, those puffed sleeves add an extra something to the outfit. But the best thing about this outfit. THE SHOES! Look at those monsters. I am literally green with envy!

Last, but certainly not least, she donned this gorgeous bright pink dress. It’s loose but her waist is defined with the black ribbon belt. The bust of this dress complements her small bust size without showing too much. Her hair is curled softly and her makeup is subdued; if she wore too much eye/lipstick makeup she’d probably look a bit trampy.

I love this picture of Helena Christensen & Gwyneth Paltrow. Don’t you wish you knew what they were laughing about?!
What do you think? Does it work for you or not so much?
