a night of superheroes
May 6, 2008If you didn’t know, last night was the Met’s Costume Institute Gala which celebrates all things fashion and couture. All the ladies put their best foot forward and I actually felt that this red carpet was ten times more exciting than the Oscars. Instead of playing it safe, the ladies (and men) followed the superhero theme and opted to not play it safe. I thought these gals especially worked it.
Maggie Gyllenhaal in Peter Som. The purple contrast with her white skin and that bright lipstick is perfect.
Kate Bosworth in Chanel. Color, color, color! Only Lagerfield’s muse could pull this crazy look off. The length really compliments her shape, lengthening her legs.
Kate Mara in Zac Posen. Neon Yellow has never looked so good. I like how playful she looks.
Camilla Belle in Armani. The color compliments her dark skin and the one shoulder sleeve ties the whole piece together. Plus, the draping around the waist is very sexy.
Diane Kruger in Chanel. Mini dresses are my favorite and this uber detailed metallic dress is a complete eye-catcher. Plus, I’m drooling over the jeweled detail on her sleeve. And look at those fushia shoes!
Maggie Gyllenhaal always makes unusual choices, I like her for not playing it safe all the time.
And Kate Bosworth’s shoes are incredibly perfect for her outfit!
