budgets be damned

How can I resist J. Crew’s gorgeous winter dresses? With the holiday season upon us, don’t we all need new frocks to don while sipping (choking down) the cheap wine at the sad little imprompu holiday party your office decided to throw despite budget cuts? If you can’t eat cake (sorry, budget cuts rear their ugly head), then you should at least wear something you like, right?

I don’t even think I can walk in to a store nowadays, with my bank account heading in it’s destined, cursed negative spiral. It’s as if somehow my money will get sucked out of my pockets the minute I walk through the threshold of J. Crew greatness.

Instead, I will wallow my sorrows away in my stash of Halloween candy that is quickly disappearing… Now wonder my pants are feeling a little tight.

Erin - J. Crew got me on Saturday. I bought the berry pink Lady Day coat… since I don’t have any willpower perhaps I can assist you with polishing off any leftover peanut butter cups that might still be in your post holiday stash?

Caitlin - I always lust after J.Crew things, but luckily (?) their dresses never fit quite right. Their shirts and sweaters though…

Maris - Ah, there’s nothing like the period of leftover Halloween candy before Thanksgiving/Holiday indulgences kick in! :)

I love the white JCrew dress…I can see that becoming a must have for me if it goes on sale!

My First Kitchen - Is it bad that I’m probably going to buy my winter party dresses a size bigger because of said Halloween candy? Just a precaution. Wiggle room is always a good call.

Amanda - Erin, that coat is adorable! I have one like that in black that I got last year. It’s my favorite!

jewelrywhore - Oh, luverly J Crew is the deveel! We recently got a jcrew in my town (after years of driving 2 hours to the nearest one), and I have to completely avoid it to stop from going bankrupt! But when the Crew has a sale, the crew has a SALE!

robin - Amanda- I bought an IPOD touch and there’s this neat little calorie counting diary I use on it…and I’m going nuts! Everytime I want to dip into my Halloween stash I have to be faced with the sad consequence of my daily calories going up! I actually can’t believe how many calories I was consuming with them–they seem so little! No wonder I couldn’t shed that extra 5 pounds.

I hear ya about the budget. I so want a new holiday dress…but it’s just not in. My future this year.

Amanda - oh no, Robin, that device sounds torturous! Looking at those calorie counts kills me :( I have been working butt off (literally) to get those dreaded reeses peanut butter cups off my hips. On the upside, at least the holidays are coming. Everybody goes up a pound or two haha :)

Robin - Too true. I love those precious holiday weeks when you can pig out every weekend. You know, for the sake of family bonding… :)
