I don’t what clicked, but it seemed like all of a sudden, a big bout of creativity came flying back to me. For a while, it felt like a creative drought; I wasn’t inspired anything. Music was muted, photos looked dull. But I’ve recently come across certain things that have gotten my creativity flowing. Can I share them with you? It’s a random collection, but it’s given me a much-needed renewal.
Every once in a while, I fantasize about opening my own restaurant, bakery, café. A place where people could come together, spend an afternoon laughing over drinks and food. When I start letting my thoughts go down that path, I imagine what it would look like. I haven’t had the chance to visit in The Mermaid Inn in New York City but the next time I am in town, it’s on my agenda. I adore the logo, the photos, and the website. The design and the aesthetics of the restaurant compliment each other beautifully.

There is no way I could afford one night in this gorgeous hotel, but one day, I will stay at the Greenwich Hotel in New York City. The modern, clean, yet comfortable design fits my own personal design motto. I like how the hotel mixes bright colors against a neutral pallete. If I could decorate my house like this place, I’d never want to leave.

Parisian women are known for their effortless sense of style. Simple, elegant, and comfortable. When I went to Paris a couple of years ago, I was floored by how beautiful they looked, even in jeans and a T-shirt. I found these photos taken during Paris Fashion Week 2010 from a fashion website, I think it was Style or Elle. (If you know, please email me as I’d like to give credit to the photographer.)

Marie Claire has become one of my favorite magazines because it houses a great collection of fashion editorials and real-life pieces. It touches on a variety of topics that I enjoy reading and stays away from the stupid fluff other magazines concentrate on. Their recent November issue had an interesting fashion spread styled by Tiffany Fraser Steele. I looked at her portfolio and fell in love with her work.

I love when new things start shaping up in my mind. It gives me something to aspire to. Maybe this little collection of my personal creative inspiration will work or you too.

leigh - cannot stop swooning over the greenwich hotel. so lovely.
kms - love it all – gorgeous and inspiring! i bet that restaurant/bakery/cafe of yours would be stunning! :)
Jessica - I went to the Mermaid Inn about a year ago and sat in the back garden/patio area. It was very cozy and warm. My New Zealand friend, with whom I ate with, said it reminded her of the food from back home.
robin - Love the look of those Parisian women. Wish style was that effortless for me!
Dolce - French women styling – not always easy (trust me, I’m French).
On another note, I had never seen the inside of the Greenwich hotel and it looks really refreshing – a way that makes you feel you are not in NYC!
Jennifer - There are many gorgeous details to all of these photos—I see how easily they’d inspire. I’m loving the fireplace, heels and oversized scarf. Lovely!
