December days

When it comes to the holidays, I go all out. Most of you who have gone through the holidays here on this blog know that about me. I can’t help but get caught up in the holiday spirit. Call it a marketing ploy or whatever, Christmas is extremely special to me. It’s full of possibilities and compassion where people are looking to surprise their loved ones with a small gift, a wonderful dinner, etc. At the heart of Christmas lies love. I don’t care what the naysayers believe; the holidays are about bringing people together. As a child from a divorced home, Christmas was the one time of the year where my parents would sit under one roof and be civil with each other. We’d all smile politely, drink hot cocoa, unwrap gifts, and pretend to be a happy little family. It was bliss and it’s no wonder I still regard the holiday season as a time for togetherness.

This all leads me to my little December surprise for you all. Don’t get all excited, I’m not giving away Kitchen Aid mixers or something. What I decided to do this December is share a little holiday love each day in December. The 31 days in December pass by in a crazed hurry and I always regret not savoring each day more thoroughly. Writing a post or posting a picture each day will hopefully help you focus on that one day, that one moment.I plan on getting in touch with my ultra holiday-crazy-elf side and do it up right. Baking, crafts, decorations, movies, giveaways, you name it, I’m gonna live it up during these December days.

31 days, 31 posts. You ready?

Grab a drink and a sit back, folks. It’s gonna be an interesting ride this month.
