One Word

If there is one word that best describes my weekend, it’s delicious. Both days I enjoyed the best food with the best company. From an avocado burger to strawberry nutella crepe and ending with some addicting triple chocolate chip cookies that are destined to make an appearence on this blog, I ate to my true heart’s content. Have you ever had a weekend where you truly ate from your heart? I know it’s a weird concept but whether it’s comfort food or light fare, sometimes the best way to connect with the present is through the stomach. I’m curious as to what you all enjoyed over the weekend. Drop a line; I’m dying to hear!

Even though I’ve got a decent amount of miles waiting to be logged at the gym, I don’t regret a single bite. For now, I leave you with two things: the smell of melting chocolate floating through the kitchen and the image of little cookie clouds resting on your counter. How’s that for delicious?

Michelle - Long time reader, first time commenter. Sounds like you had the PERFECT weekend! Mine started out sucky (funeral for my best friend’s dad) but ended on a comforting note. I spent most of Sunday in the kitchen. I think I worked out my sorrows by cooking up some brown rice & quinoa, baking some spaghetti squash, making a white bean puree and baking a banana cake. There’s nothing better than therapy via the kitchen!! Thanks for some amazing pics & recipes Amanda!

libbyosity - Oh my goodness, those cookies look like perfection! Such a comforting classic. Your weekend sounds wonderful as well. My own highlights include pasta primavera with fresh produce from a weekend market and homemade banana pancakes. I love spring!

Frog Hollow Farm Girl - A sweet hello from Frog Hollow Farm! Your weekend sound delightful – I’m on the treadmill every day for 30 minutes just to balance out my love of cooking and eating! This weekend I made a simple little goat cheese appetizer to bring over to a friend’s house on Sunday afternoon (it’s on my blog!) What’s better than sipping wine, snacking and talking with friends outside in the gardent on a beautiful day in April? Ciao, bella.

Amanda - haha I guess I have good genes??! I don’t do any special effects on my photos in photoshop. Just some quick levels/curves to enhance the lighting.

sarah @ syrupandhoney - I had an amazing weekend of feasting as well! We hosted a goat cheese tasting party highlighted by a floral, creamy, yet barnyard-y semisoft. We had our first cookout of the spring with yeasty homemade buns. And a delightfully sticky lemon loaf…and moist banana rye muffins…and I could go on and on! Hmm, I still want one of those cookies, though!

Maddie - It’s great when you get to share such delicious meals with your favorite people. I felt the same this weekend, as I was visiting LA to catch up with my own loved ones. I shared a platter of amazing (authentic!) Mexican food with my little brother, a diner brunch with an old roommate, and barbecue with a big group of extended family. Somehow, everything tastes better in good company — and when you’re on vacation, of course!
