Good NYC Eats

I had a rush of things to say, but apparently the gloomy weather made my brain go fuzzy. Oh well. I have an awesome friend coming in to town on Sunday and I couldn’t be more excited… Now, the questions is, where should we go to eat our hearts out??!!

New York City is a foodlovers dream. On every corner in every neighborhood, one can try a wide array of cuisines. Nigerian, malaysian, soul, traditional chinese, fresh sushi, hearty italian, and the classic american diner. There are so many choices that it leaves me feeling overwhelmed. While I have tried some superb places in my seven months here (wow already?!), my list of must-try places is growing. Here is my running tally:

Perilla

The Smith

Clinton St. Baking Company

Cafe Habana

Scarpetta

Peels

The Doughnut Plant

mccaffreysbaking - Looks like you have a lot of places in the LES/EV area! I’ve been living down here for over 3 years, and some of my favorite Italian is at Lavagna on 5th St between Ave A & Ave B. You should definitely check it out!

Maddie - Not to add to your ever-growing list, BUT…Franny’s in Brooklyn is pretty dang awesome. As is Miriam, just around the corner, for its Israeli brunch. Mmm, shakshuka!

Feast on the Cheap - I’m also in love with Keste’s pizza down on Bleecker Street… And Celeste on the UWS has the most authentic Italian food

Brooke - My favorite – FAVORITE – restaurant we visited was Bonita’s in Williamsburg. So wonderful… NYC and NOLA are two cities where I plan my vacation around my meals.
