Since I’ve Been Gone

Well that was an interesting month, to say the least. It’s probably time for mini life-update, right?

While I was gone…

I saw two of my closest pals get hitched (and preceded to cry a lot).

I spent a glorious weekend up in the Norther California mountains where I swear I could almost reach out and touch the sky.

I lost my faith that good people excist (but don’t worry, it was a momentary lapse and all is right with the world.)

I developed a serious crush on a certain man who literally made me weak in the knees. High-school much? Yes.

I learned that “survival of the fittest” isn’t just a phrase, it’s a lifestyle.

I managed to host a major two-day event with my team and we killed it.

I met two serious inspirations, Coco Rocha and Iman, both of whom were sincerely sweet and extremely smart.

I laughed harder than I could ever imagine while at work, which is where we all need more laughter.

I wore my J. Crew Chambray shirt more than I thought possible.

I met and heard the sisters behind Rodarte talk about the power of nature in their collections. Woop woop for us California girls!

I drank more champagne than I care to admit.

I came face-to-face with Olivia Palermo and developed an even bigger girl crush. Seriously, she is stunning.

I met Joanna Hillman (albeit briefly) and decided that we should be BFFs. I don’t think she knows yet though.

I spent many nights (and a few mornings) with Jen, Catherine and the dynamic duo known as Britt & Whit, both of whom are dear friends now.

I re-dedicated myself to yoga because of two big spring trends that make me shudder: hot pants & crop tops.

I ho-hey’d with the best of them at the Lumineers concert in Central Park. I could have stayed listening to them for days.

I learned that running on 5 hours of sleep and no food for a week straight will make you wanna cry/die/vomit/cranky. All at the same time.

I cursed a pair of gorgeous nude pumps that ripped my feet apart during fashion week.

I found that my little life here in New York is bigger and more full than I acknowledge. And for that, I’m glad.

fashion week

Now that October is nipping at September’s heels and my favorite season is upon us (HELLO FALL), I vow to take the days a little slower. To relax, enjoy and soak up the gorgeous season that is here. I’m talking more posting, more stories, more dates, more fun, more books, more photos, more hot toddys, more kisses, more denim, more scarves, more baking, more yoga.

What about you? How was your September?
